The learning phase is the period after you launch or significantly edit a Meta ad set while the delivery system learns how to deliver it. Meta says ad sets generally exit learning after about 50 optimisation events within 7 days of the last significant edit.

What resets learning

Significant edits, large budget changes, new creative, new targeting, a different optimisation event or bid strategy, or pausing for a long time, can send an ad set back into learning.

”Learning limited”

If an ad set can’t reach enough optimisation events, Ads Manager shows Learning limited. Common fixes: consolidate ad sets, broaden the audience, raise the budget or optimise for a more frequent event.

Scaling without resetting

Raise budgets gradually (around 20% at a time). Guide: How to scale Facebook ads without resetting learning.

Spotnxt’s rules include learning-phase protection, so automated changes skip ad sets that are still learning.
